The Good Bastards Rugby Club
The Good Bastards Rugby Club is still in short pants. However it
seems we are fast becoming of age. We have hosted the first Good Bastards Rugby
World Cup in Christchurch NZ and sponsored the Good Bastards Women's Rugby
Tournament in Westport NZ.
Both achieved what they set out to do and set a platform for far greater things
in the future.
Golden Oldies is a wonderful institution and is receives tremendous support from
clubs around the around the world. It provides a tremendous forum for those who
just can’t seem to hang up their boots.
However there is an increasing ground swell from those among the ranks that are
fed up with what they call “Rip Off’ deals with the owners of Golden Oldies, Air
New Zealand.
Far be it our task to take on Air New Zealand or dare to suggest we have a
better alternative, well not yet anyway.
The Good Bastards Rugby Club is a non-profit organisation where the profits go
to The Good Bastards Help A Mate Fund. A fund set up to help those in need
particularly in the area of health funding.
We have a basis solely in Humour, good times, a few beers and a few laughs.
Speaking of beer, Good Bastards Beer pays the bills and donates a fair bit of
grog around the place and it is hoped that as a result they may some day sell a
bit of beer as a result.
We are currently calling on those to help do the work and drive the idea
further. We need folk from within the Rugby fraternity and these who just want
to help do “Stuff” that has to be done to make the wheels go around.
